We are in the heart of the Langhe Monregalesi, land of wine for over 500 years.

A distance as the crow flies of a handful of kilometres from Mondovì and about fifty from Alba, Savona and the mountain resorts of Monviso. This portion of Piedmont captures the visitor because it shows a fairy-tale border Langa with a Mediterranean climate located at an average altitude of 600 metres above sea level.
Since 1916, the Blengini family has been the soul of this ancient summer residence built by the Bishop of Mondovì, Michele Casati. Today, Giuseppe and his wife Roberta are writing a new chapter of history by creating a revolutionary project aimed at developing an area yet to be discovered. The present is called Monsignore, the bubbly of Alta Langa.
A unique, territorial, identifying and at the same time pioneering wine.
Giuseppe Blengini is a successful architect and today divides his time between Milan, Alba and Vicoforte. In 2007 he met Roberta, the woman who would change his life, a Piedmontese woman whose surname was Ceretto, the daughter of Bruno. In 2014, they decided to bet on Alta Langa bubbly with a bohemian-like intuition to save an agriculture, developing a terroir very different from the nearby Langa. The altitude, the significant temperature range, the wind coming from the sea and the natural protection of the mountains led Roberta and Giuseppe to believe in their project.
It is a real journey between past, present and much of the future. An itinerary traveled by enlisting various traveling companions who highlight the importance of the human factor and are fundamental to reaching the goal. All together they concert a work plan to manage the 44 hectares of land of which currently 14 are vineyards.
The result led to the decision to focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 2019, another stage was added to the journey by renting vineyards from small producers who followed a common agricultural protocol in Canelli, Santo Stefano Belbo, Vesime and Diano d’Alba, in order to create a blend of grapes that bring complexity and different tannic notes, well integrated with the extreme elegance of the Vicoforte grapes.

L’ALTA LANGA
MONSIGNORE
Monsignore Alta Langa is a classic extra brut method aged 36 months with separate vinifications composed equally of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and characterized by herbaceous notes. In the glass it shows fine and persistent bubbles, in the mouth is creamy and smooth, its aromas are clear and elegant, just like the territory that is experiencing its effervescent renaissance.
The owners’ common passion for art led to the creation of a special lable for Monsignore commissioned to the artist Francesco Clemente: a Spartan helmet, which have always been a symbol of courage, loyalty and power as a wish for the new business born and in memory of some passages that describe the ancestral world of wine and much loved by the passionate artist of the heroes described by Homer in the Odyssey.
